Altus flutes are renowned for being of the highest quality and Altus been hand crafting flutes for over 25 years. The mechanism and style has been said to be based on the French maker Louis Lot with seamed tube and the quality of workmanship is superb.
The Altus PSD closed hole flute is almost pure silver, hardened under intense pressure (Sinter) to take away its more malleable qualities and this creates a very dense tubing creating superb projection in the sound. This gives a a brilliance and clarity that is matched only by the Altus 1707 in the range.
