Roy Seaman (Gemeinhardt KGG) Grenadilla Piccolo, Reform Lip
Here is a superb opportunity to purchase one of the last of the Roy Seaman piccolos. Made by him not long before he died, this was in his unmarked stock when Gemeinhardt purchased the company in 1997, they then gave it the Gemeinhardt engraving and serial number 115. Gemeinhardt are a company based in Elkart, Indiana, with a history that dates back to 1928 and they have been producing quality instruments ever since.
Roy Seaman piccolos are made from seasoned Grenadilla wood, offering a beautifully warm and rich tone, the keys are solid silver and it has Seaman’s classic split E mechanism.
This particular piccolo has had one owner from new and was purchased in 1998 from TopWind in London. They have confirmed the provenance of the piccolo and that it was indeed made by Roy Seaman. It has been hardly used and is in beautiful condition with a gorgeous handmade reform lip.
