VERNE POWELL HANDMADE SOLID SILVER FLUTE BODY (#6031) IN FULLY RESTORED CONDITION WITH TWO FOOTJOINTS

 

Verne Powell first started making flutes in 1927 and the Powell company are world renowned flute makers to this day. Powell’s Handmade Custom flutes have been the ”gold standard” of the flute world for more than 80 years. They have been celebrated for their flexibility of colour, ease of response and reliability. Every Custom flute continues this tradition and is handmade to exacting specifications by Powell’s skilled artisans in Maynard, Massachusetts.   The Golden Age of Powell has always been considered to be the 1970’s and this flute dates from the early to mid 1970’s. 

This particular flute is the top of the range Custom model in superb overhauled and restored condition with excellent pads. It has soldered tone holes, 0.14 wall thickness, french key arms, open-holes, offset G and the advantage of B and C footjoints. This represents a superb opportunity to add a bespoke headjoint to a beautifully made body to create a stunning overall set-up.
