Haynes have been making flutes since 1888 when two brothers, apprentice jewelers, decided to experiment with metals and flute making. In 1989 they first discovered the process of ‘drawing out’ tone holes from solid silver tubes. Over 135 years later they are still one of the world’s leading flute makers. This particular Classic model was constructed in 2005 and benefits from closed holes, offset G and C footjoint with drawn tone holes. The sound is rich and dark with excellent projection and a beautifully rounded tone.
This flute has been regularly serviced and plays very well as is. We have not carried out any further adjustments but we have stripped, oiled the rods and polished the silver. It is offered in superb condition with minor marks only and pads are good with plenty of life. It comes with the original leather covered hardcase which has some scratches in the leather (see pictures).
