Powell Venti Flute headjoint – Solid silver handcut headjoint

The superb used/secondhand Powell Venti flute headjoint is now available for sale. Verne Q. Powell established his workshop in 1927, thereby setting a high standard for excellence in flutes. Subsequently, he crafted his first conservatory flute, known as the Commercial Model, in 1928. These early flutes featured drawn tone holes and plain cups with Y-arms.

Although Powell discontinued the Commercial Model in 1988, requests for a conservatory model continued to emerge. Beginning in 1991, Powell developed a new design for the conservatory flute. After two years of extensive testing and refinement by customers worldwide, Powell introduced the new flute, aptly naming it the 2100 in anticipation of the twenty-first century.

Following this, the 3100 model emerged shortly afterward, and both models eventually evolved into the ‘Conservatory’ model.

This headjoint is the Venti cut. The Venti Cut, developed by Mr. Paul Edmund-Davies to mirror his experience of singing in a cathedral choir, has excellent depth of sound through all three octaves, and a very resonant and free third octave. The silver is in beautiful unmarked condition and the head cork has been replaced.

This headjoint has come direct from the Powell 2100 Conservatory flute and so has not been adjusted. As with all headjoints, some small adjustment may be needed to fit a different flute but this is an easy and inexpensive process.
