Rare Albert Cooper Jubilee Solid Silver Headjoint (1983) – Beautiful Condition

Up for sale is a very rare and beautiful Albert Cooper solid silver headjoint. Albert Cooper was a British maker who, upon leaving Rudall Carte in the 1960’s, set up shop in the shed at the end of his garden and with traditional tools became one of the world’s most famous makers of headjoints and flutes. His cooperation with Brannen Brothers, William Bennett and Elmer Cole developed the ‘Cooper Scale’ to which Brannen now produce Brannen-Cooper flutes. He passed away in 2011 and left a legacy of beautifully constructed instruments but mainly headjoints and these are highly coveted and very rarely on the market.

This particular head was a special Jubilee headjoint celebrating 25 years of Albert’s craftsmanship. The diameter is 19 mm and so can easily be adjusted to a modern flute and will be slightly loose for the vast majority (Sankyo, Muramatsu, Yamaha, Pearl, Yamaha) so easy to adjust. I played this on the Muramatsu and it has a beautifully warm and sweet sound with excellent resistance, it is quite simply a world class headjoint.

**Please note that whilst I accept returns on flutes, I cannot accept a return on a headjoint once it has been adjusted to fit another flute, so please bear this in mind**
