Andrew Oxley Solid Silver Flute – Handmade with soldered tone holes – Open Holes, Offset G, Split E and C-Foot

Here is a rare, early Andrew Oxley solid silver flute for sale. Andrew Oxley has been a flute maker and craftsman since the mid 1970’s. He started crafting headjoints in 1976 and went on to making flutes, creating 52 flutes in gold and silver and over 1,500 headjoints. His clients include well known flautists such as William Bennett, Adrian Brett, Susan Milan, Atarah Ben-Tovim, Julie Wright and many more.

This particular flute has recently been rebuilt by Andrew and a split E added. The original keywork is Sankyo and the body handmade by Andrew with soldered tone holes. This is one of his early models and has been repadded and overhauled in 2020. The original head has recently had its lip and riser replaced by Andrew giving a more responsive and edgy sound and this flute really plays superbly with a lovely warm and focused sound. Easy to blow and achieve colour, this flute would suit an advanced student looking for a high quality handmade flute to progress with their studies.

This is a high quality handmade model from the 1980’s and a rare model from Andrew Oxley. The mechanism is light and responsive and it is superbly made. Feel free to ask any questions and I will be happy to help.
