BEAUTIFUL MATEKI M0-041 HANDMADE SOLID SILVER FLUTE WITH OPEN-HOLES, OFFSET G, SPLIT E AND C-Foot
Mateki was a small-scale Japanese manufacturer of handmade flutes and headjoints, specifically aimed at professional musicians. Mateki, which means Magic Flute in Japanese, was founded by S. Watanabe in 1978 after gaining experience of flute and headjoint assembly at Muramatsu. Mateki has become a renowned flute builder, which is well-known around the world and specifically in Japan and only closed its doors sadly a couple of years ago.
This particular model is the Mateki M0-041 handmade solid silver flute and has the sought-after hand cut Watanabe headjoint. Constructed in solid silver with open holes, offset G, split E and C Foot, this model has a responsive and warm sound, rich and powerful but with mellow overtones. It is often sought for jazz/folk work and is hard to find on the used market.
We have fully overhauled this flute and replaced the flute with Pisoni Lucien Deluxe pads. It is in beautiful condition throughout and a lovely flute to play.
