Michael J Allen Handmade open hole flute (#48) with inline G and C foot – Beautifully crafted instrument

Very rare opportunity to acquire a handmade Michael Allen Flute. Mike Allen trained as a silver/gold smith and jeweller in London. He has a background in engineering and a passion for custom-made instruments. This initially led him to begin working with Trevor Wye and also with Trevor James. He later established his own business crafting flutes and head joints and is a highly regarded British flute maker. Michael’s work is exquisite and finely detailed and all flutes are made to the player’s specifications and requirements.

This particular Michael Allen flute (#48) was constructed in 2003, has had one professional owner and has travelled the world. It has been played for a solo performance at the Albert Hall and has been cherished throughout its life. The flute itself is constructed from solid Sterling silver with white gold rods, red gold inserts in the B flat key, G-sharp key & on the C foot roller. The headjoint has a solid 9K engraved gold lip with gold riser. Each key has been beautifully crafted and the flute has been constructed with incredible attention to detail. It is clear to see the engineering background within the mechanism and those small touches that bring this flute together. This is a really special hand crafted instrument from one of the last of Britain’s true flute makers and would be a joy to own and play. It comes with a custom burgundy wood case made by Michael with combination locks and a thick leather NAP carrycase.

I am selling this on behalf of its owner and he has asked that it be priced to be affordable so that someone can cherish it and enjoy playing it as he has done.
