(EX DEMO) POWELL 9K AURUMITE CONSERVATORY FLUTE WITH OPEN-HOLES, OFFSET G, SPLIT E and B-FOOT (#HC-6243)

Verne Powell first started making flutes in 1927 and the Powell company are world renowned flute makers to this day. The Powell 9K Aurumite Conservatory flute is made through a patented fusion process of interlocking layers of gold and silver. Known as Aurumite, this material combines the projection of silver with the warmth of gold. 9K Aurumite flutes have the sterling silver band on the interior of the tubing, and the 9K Gold band on the exterior with solid sterling silver keys. The sound has all the rich tonal quality given through the solid silver with the darker sweet sound that gold offers. The wall thickness is 0.16”, tone-holes are drawn, the mechanism has 10K white gold springs. The headjoint is the P cut (Philharmonic) and has a 9K solid gold lip plate and riser.

This particular flute is an Ex-Demo model from 2022 and has had very light playing. The pads are Straubinger of course and are perfectly seated and are immaculate. The flute itself is immaculate and has no marks (other than the connecting joints). Brand new this model is £14,500 in the UK and so this is an excellent saving for a flute which is practically new.

This flute is a a powerhouse of an instrument – the sound is rich and full of colour, powerful and full. High register sings easily and the low register has a rich warmth.
