The Yamaha YFL-211 flute is the best starting flute for students. It features a nickel silver, silver plated headjoint, silver plated body and footjoint which gives a lovely warm sound and allows a student an excellent range of tonal colour. There are closed-holes, offset G and the split E mechanism that helps players with pitch. The current model retails for £500 and so this represents superb value.
