Description
Yamaha Yfl-43 solid silver closed hole flute
For students looking to move up to a flute that will take them through Grade 8 and beyond, it is important firstly to benefit from solid silver and the richness of tone it offers. Yamaha have been producing flutes since the early 1970’s and are still the most recommended make for students. The Yamaha YFL-43 solid silver closed hole flute is an older version of the YFL-411 model but identical in specification. Arguably these older models have a quality in sound and construction that the later ones do not. Personally I have always preferred the sound of those Yamaha models, like this one, that were constructed in the 1970’s.
This Yamaha YFL-43 solid silver closed hole flute is a perfect upgrade for students. It features a solid silver headjoint, body and footjoint with silver plated mechanism and keys. The solid silver tube is denser than nickel silver and therefore gives a lovely warm sound and allows a student a much greater range of tonal colour . It also features the closed-holes, offset G and split E that students will already be comfortable with. The superb quality of construction means that these flutes last a lifetime and this one has been completely overhauled and polished. The pads have had some use but have plenty of life and seal nicely. This is an excellent model for grade 5 and above students or lifetime hobby players wanting a flute full of warmth and tonal quality.
