This is a unique opportunity to acquire one of Yamaha’s most sought-after flagship models. The Yamaha YFL-881 solid silver flute is from Yamaha’s professional range and was constructed in 2000. This was certainly at the top of Yamaha’s range at the time and is superbly made.
Condition of this flute is superb throughout. The silver has been cleaned and polished, the pads replaced with new Lucien Deluxe and new corks hand curt. Correspondently we have also stripped down the mechanism and oiled it. The flute itself plays very strongly and cleanly with a rich and full bodied sound. The Yamaha Yfl-881 flute is solid silver throughout with open holes, soldered tone holes and white gold springs. This particular model has inline keys and the addition of a B footjoint. Due to prices of Yamaha models increasing with changing exchange rates, the older 800 series particularly have increased steadily in price and are one of the most sought-after advanced models in the range. Because they were so superbly constructed they remain a very useable flute and the bodies are often paired with different individual headjoints to create a high quality bespoke combination.
