VERNE POWELL HANDMADE CUSTOM PICCOLO (2024) WITH CLASSIC CUT HEADJOINT
Verne Powell first started making his flutes and piccolos in 1927 and the Powell company are world renowned makers to this day. The Powell Handmade Custom Piccolo is known for its rich, dark tone and effortless blend within the ensemble. Hand-tuned for lasting precision and available with Sterling Silver, plus three headjoint styles — Classic, Profiled, and Wave. The body is constructed from aged African Grenadilla wood and the mechanism and keys are crafted in solid Sterling silver. Sought after by orchestral and solo musicians, each piccolo is hand-tuned and features phenolic tone hole inserts. These tone hole inserts provide an air tight surface for the pad to sit on, which does not deteriorate over time.
This particular piccolo was handmade by Powell in September 2024 and has had very light use. Consequently it is offered in beautiful condition with excellent pads. Current retail price of this piccolo is £9,595 and so this is superb value for a very recent, lightly used example.
