Roy Seaman Piccolo – Handmade Grenadilla Wood
For more than 40 years, The Roy Seaman piccolo has been the preferred choice of discerning players worldwide. Handcrafted to produce the warm, rich sound that blends so beautifully with other acoustic instruments, these instruments have long been recognized for their outstanding craftsmanship and performance. Features include a conical bore, and a special Seaman scale designed for consistent response and intonation throughout all registers.
Here is a superb opportunity to purchase one of Roy’s handmade piccolos. Original Roy Seaman piccolos are made from seasoned Grenadilla wood, offering a beautifully warm and rich tone, the keys are solid silver and it has Seaman’s classic split E mechanism. This may be an early Gemeinhardt collaboration as there are some differences to classic Seaman piccolos but it is unclear.
This particular piccolo has had one owner from new and is approximately 30 years of age. We have fully serviced the piccolo and it is offered in excellent condition with light tarnish on the keys. The pads are used but have plenty of life and we have replaced a couple. When the piccolo is next repadded the keys can be dipped to remove any remaining tarnish.
