Mike Allen is one of only a few flute makers left in the UK. He originally trained as a silver and goldsmith as well as a jeweller in London. Furthermore, his engineering background, combined with his passion for custom-made instruments, initially drove him to collaborate with Trevor Wye and Trevor James. Eventually, he established his own business, where he now crafts flutes and headjoints. As a result, he has earned recognition as a highly regarded British flute maker.
This Mike Allen handmade alto flute headjoint was constructed in 2007 and features a solid Sterling silver tube and lip. Every part has been meticulously crafted and constructed with incredible attention to detail. The crown has been hammered in silver in Mike Allen’s traditional style. Condition is excellent without any dents and minor scratches.
