MIYAZAWA ATELIER-II (Brögger System) SOLID SILVER CLOSED-HOLE FLUTE WITH OFFSET G, SPLIT E, SILVER PLATED KEYWORK AND C-FOOT

For sale is a superb Miyazawa Atelier II solid silver flute with the sought-after pinless Brögger mechanism.

Miyazawa flutes are a world renowned flute makers.  Founded by master craftsman Masashi Miyazawa in 1969. By drawing from his expertise in designing and manufacturing professional flutes, Miyazawa successfully combined traditional craftsmanship with advanced technologies.  The Brogger system was introduced n 2005. It is an innovative pinless mechanism allowing precise adjustments and balance of the spring tension of each individual key, resulting in a more even, effortless feel for the flautist.

The Atelier flute model was named specifically for the Japanese market, which makes it difficult to find in the UK and Europe. The equivalent in the UK and Europe would be the 402 model. It features a solid Sterling silver headjoint, body and footjoint with silver plated mechanism and keys. Additionally, the flute incorporates the highly regarded Brögger System mechanism.

Johan Brögger, a famed flutemaker, designed this innovative pinless mechanism, which only Miyazawa holds the patent for. With this in mind, the system allows for more precise adjustment of spring tension for each individual key and improves the movement of the keys. This does not change anything about the flute for players who are unfamiliar with the Brögger system, it just means that the mechanism is smoother.

This particular flute is offered in excellent condition throughout with some light scratches. It has closed holes with the offset G mechanism and a C footjoint.  It also has a gold plated lip which is a lovely extra. The headjoint cut is the MZ-A cut with 0.38 inch wall thickness.  The MZ-A is a modern style design with an open, warm sound based on the classic cut.

This flute produces a strong, focused sound with a beautiful tone. I highly recommend it for intermediate to degree-level students, as well as for wind doublers, thanks to its ease of blow.

Finally, it includes the original Miyazawa hard case and soft case and remains in beautiful, unmarked condition throughout. The soft case is worn and the side pocket zip catch is broken, but is included as it has a faux fur lined inside and is excellent protection.

Features:

  • Used flute/Secondhand flute – Fully serviced
  • Solid silver headjoint (MZ-A) – 0.38′ wall thickness
  • Brögger System
  • Silver plated tube and mechanism
  • Offset G and split E
  • Closed Holes
  • Hard case and lined carrycase
