Description
Pearl Maesta MD-970 Hand-made Flute (.970). Closed Holes, Drawn Tone Holes, Split-E and C-foot.
This model is the Pearl Maesta MD-970 handmade flute with high purity silver and the Vivace cut headjoint. The Maesta series is at the heart of the Pearl handmade flutes and has been the jewel in their crown for many years. Crafted entirely by hand and available with drawn and soldered tone holes, these models are some of the finest example of Pearl’s flute range.
Pearl are well known for their craftsmanship and ingenuity. The foundation of every Pearl flute is a patented Pinless construction, which eliminates the problems of traditional flute construction – protruding needles that snag clothing and give easy entry to perspiration and body acids causing corrosion and binding keys. Besides this unique pinless construction, Pearl flutes have additional bridge mechanisms that add strength to the entire mechanism.
This Maesta flute model is crafted with a pure silver (.970) headjoint and body and the keys are Sterling silver (.925). The Vivace cut headjoint is a mixture of the Forte cut and the Vivo with a little more resistance than the Forte. It is very responsive, has superb projection and produces a dark centered tone. This cut enables a wide dynamic spectrum throughout the entire range of the instrument. This particular flute has closed holes with an offset G, split E mechanism and C footjoint. It is approximately 14 years old and offered in superb condition throughout, recently serviced and polished. It comes with the Pearl wood case (some marking/wear on corners) and a Pearl faux sheepskin lined carrycase.
This model is very sought-after and currently for sale in the shops for around £7,000.
