Description
Pearl SS-800RBE Solid Silver Open Hole Flute with offset G, split E and B foot
The Pearl SS-800RBE solid silver open hole flute offers superb craftsmanship as an intermediate flute, meeting the needs of advancing students. Pearl introduced this model in the 1980’s and it was one of their higher models.
Pearl has earned its reputation for innovative designs. Every Pearl flute features the brand’s patented Pinless construction, which directly addresses and eliminates issues that arise in traditional flute designs. Traditional models with protruding needles often snag clothing and allow perspiration and body acids to enter, leading to corrosion and binding keys. However, Pearl’s Pinless construction prevents these problems. Additionally, Pearl flutes include extra bridge mechanisms that strengthen the entire structure.
This Pearl SS-800RBE flute model combines a solid silver headjoint with a solid silver body and keys. It has open holes with the benefit of an offset G and the split E mechanism. Furthermore it has the upgrade of a B footjoint with gizmo key (allows the easier pitching of C1). The condition of this flute is excellent throughout with light marks and we have completely overhauled the mechanism and the pads are only about 6 months old. This in itself is a saving of £350-400 and so provides a superb flute with a lifetime of use ahead. Pearl have advised that the current equivalent model is the CD-925 Cantabile at over £5,000.
For any student progressing through grade 5 and beyond, this flute serves as an ideal upgrade. It delivers not only a superior playing experience but also the durability to support students through advanced grades and even into college-level performance.
