Description
HANDMADE YAMAHA YFL-811 SOLID SILVER CLOSED-HOLE FLUTE WITH SOLDERED TONE HOLES, OFFSET G, SPLIT E AND C-FOOT
This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of Yamaha’s flagship older professional models. The Yamaha Yfl-811 solid silver flute was introduced in 1981 to replace the previous YFL-83. It was at the very top of Yamaha’s professional range and was handmade. The head and body are solid silver, the keys and mechanism are also solid silver with French pointed key arms and soldered tone-holes. The detail in the construction of this beautiful flute is apparent when you study it with engravings made on the collar (see pics).
This Yamaha Yfl-811 solid silver flute has closed-holes with offset G, split E and C footjoint. It also has the Yamaha EC cut headjoint which has narrower chimney walls and a more vertical cutaway. It is responsive and focused with excellent projection, power and control.
Condition of this flute is excellent with no dents and only very light marks. We have stripped the mechanism, oiled the rods, polished the silver and replaced the pads so that it is in perfect playing order. This is a high-level model that can be played as is or with a modern bespoke head if preferred and will give everything that a top class flute will offer.
