Description
Hans Reiner Grenadilla Wood Flute – Closed Holes, Offset G, Split E with G/G# Roller, Wave Lip, and B-C Trill Key
Here’s an extraordinary opportunity to own a very rare and beautiful used Hans Reiner Grenadilla wood flute, featuring special custom options. Hans Reiner, a world-renowned flute and piccolo maker, was born in Schöneck, Germany. He began his journey as the son of a flutemaker and refined his skills under Philipp Hammig in Markneukirchen. After starting his own company in 1936, Reiner produced some of the finest piccolos globally. However, he made fewer flutes, which makes this instrument exceptionally rare.
This used Hans Reiner flute stands out due to its many custom extras, which I have not encountered before and which make it truly unique. For instance, it includes a G/G# roller, an additional B-C trill key, French pointed key arms, split E, solid silver keys, and a wave lip. Moreover, the condition of the flute is extraordinary—it remains pristine throughout, having been hardly played. The pitch is 443Hz, but with a slight adjustment to the headjoint, it can easily tune to 442Hz.
Given its quality, I have never seen a Reiner flute like this before. This instrument is not only rare but also beautiful. The tone it produces is warm and rich, and it plays both easily and responsively.
